Exploring 'Rites of Passage': Contemporary Artists and Migration Narratives
GAGOSIAN GALLERY
I had the pleasure to stop by Gagosian gallery in London to see Rites of Passage.
Curated by Péjú Oshin the exhibition explores themes related to liminality and the transition between different states or stages of life, as suggested by the title.
As a curator, Oshin have been responsible for selecting the artworks and organizing the exhibition in a way that creates a cohesive and meaningful experience for visitors.
The exhibition focus on the experiences of postcolonial Black identity and the triple consciousness experienced by members of the African diaspora.
By highlighting these themes, the exhibition offers a unique perspective on issues of identity, tradition, spirituality, and place.
"Rites of Passage" is a significant exhibition that I'm sure will be a thought-provoking and memorable experience for those who are able to attend.
